Bethany Bunnell, founder and president of SunSafe, has been cutting a cool swathe of sun safe apparel since 1994, when as a young mother and designer, she was living in the Asian tropics, realizing the immediate need for sun safe clothing for her growing family.

“I knew that sunscreens alone would not provide enough coverage for my fair skinned children who wanted to be out on the beach all day,” recalls Bunnell. Today, 15 years after designing her first line of sun safe children’s clothing, Sun Safe has become a leader in sun safe apparel and sun safety for the entire family.

Beyond the stylish spins on fashionable sun safe clothing for men, women, children and infants, SunSafe works to help educate the public about sun safety sun exposure and skin cancer. The firm helped to create the first US standard in UV protection for fabrics, using a UPF transmission test to measure the amount of UVB and UVA rays blocked by the fabrics they employ.

Year round, SunSafe provides a cache of updated, fashion forward designs using lightweight fabrics that block 97.5 percent of the UVB and UVA rays transmitted by the sun.  Today, SunSafe marches on, with stylish spins on cool outdoorsy clothes for your entire brood.
